Seattle Central College has a new accessibility tool (ALLY) that is now integrated with Canvas: Blackboard Ally! This is a revolutionary product, fully integrated into Canvas, that focuses on making digital course content more accessible. Using inclusivity, sustainability, and automation as its key pillars, Blackboard Ally helps you understand and tackle accessibility in a way that benefits all students.

For Faculty

Newly approved district procedure 241 requires making instructional resources accessible to students. Seattle Central’s Access Services, Instructional Designers, and IT Services are available to help. To learn more about Ally, watch the short introduction videos below.

Alternative Accessible Format Downloads for Students (1 Mins)

For Students

ALLY creates alternative versions of your course files to suit your needs. These files include readable text for screen readers, pictures with captions, and easy-to-navigate content. Ally creates these alternatives from the original documents available in your course. You can download the alternative formats anywhere that files are used. Just choose the version that is best for your needs!

Here is a link for the ALLY Quick Start Guide for StudentsLinks to an external site. The introduction video below provides a quick demonstration of the Alternative Accessible Format Downloads available to students.
